Congratulations, Group 4!

The members of Group 4 were this week's Group Point Winners! Keep up the great work!

The 5th graders are fierce Factor Captor competitors. Maybe some of you were able to see their impressive skills at home! The students had a great time playing their first math game during Math Workshop, as well as on our First Friday.

And...we're off!

Class 5-306 is off to a great start! It is so wonderful to have such a hardworking, outgoing, and funloving group of students. I know this is going to be a great year!

This Friday is our first "First Friday! The students will be playing Factor Captor, and I'm sure they'd like to challenge you. We hope to see you there!

Reading Entries

~ Reading entries are assigned 1-2 days per week.

~ Students should be writing their entries 15-20 minutes, and they should reflect the work we're doing in class (developing theories, setting significance, character influence, theme, etc).

~ Entries should be written about the current book the student is reading.

~ Students have been collecting entry samples to refer to for support.

~ If an entry is not completed, it should be made up before the next reading entry is due.

~Entries are checked for completion each week. Class notebooks are collected for close readings and feedback about every four weeks. Students are expected to read the feedback and apply any recommendations to their future entries.
