Wacky Wardrobe Monday

On Monday, October 31st, students can wear wacky attire in honor of Halloween. They may choose to wear:
- their clothes inside out.
-mismatched socks or shoes.
-funky color combinations.
-pajamas.

The students have been told that their wacky attire should not be a distraction to them or their classmates. They should avoid wearing any hats or jewelry that may disrupt the flow of the day.

Is this what the future holds in the classroom?

Is this why they look at me funny when I mention encyclopedias, records, and walkmen?

Penny Power!

Penny Harvest is just around the corner. Be on the lookout for the Penny Heroes! They will be traveling around PS 154 educating our students about Penny Harvest. Class 5-306 came in first place last year (along with our buddies) and decided to donate the money to Japan's relief efforts. Let's do it again this year!

Memoir Publishing Party

The fifth graders read their classmates' lovely memoirs and wrote comments about eachother's pieces. I was just as impressed with their thoughtful and encouraging comments as I was with their memoirs.

Congrats, Group 1 and Group 3!

Group 1 and Group 3 had a great time celebrating their win with pizza and Chinese Food! Keep it up!

Ukeleles!

306 started music last Friday. This year, Tor's going to focus on teaching the students how to play the ukelele. We even have our own music room (slash library). The students are so excited to have ukeleles in their hands, they just can't stop strumming!

5-306 had an amazing time with Jennifer during our first Spectrum session. We can't wait for our future sessions!

October's First Friday

We hope you will be able to make it to October's First Friday on October 7th. Cook's mom, Jen Sirey, will be coming in to start an ongoing math project. It sounds like it's going to be amazing.
