Homeroom Notebooks

The 5th graders spent some time decorating their HOMEROOM NOTEBOOKS during homeroom last Friday. These notebooks will be for activities around kindness, our classroom community, and compliments from their peers.

Reading Entries

~ Reading entries are assigned 1-2 days per week.

~ Students should be writing their entries 15-20 minutes, and they should reflect the work we're doing in class (developing theories, setting significance, character influence, theme, etc).

~ Entries should be written about the current book the student is reading.

~ Students have been collecting entry samples to refer to for support.

~ If an entry is not completed, it should be made up before the next reading entry is due.

~Entries are checked for completion each week. Class notebooks are collected for close readings and feedback about every four weeks. Students are expected to read the feedback and apply any recommendations to their future entries.
